Daniel T - "Goes To West Africa" (5:59)
Daniel T - "Works Out" (6:50)
JEN - "Energetic Extension" (5:56)
Review: The surprise reappearance of the American Standard re-edit series in May, following a three-year hiatus, was a pleasing development. The series has delivered plenty of killer, off-kilter reworks in the past, and this latest EP - featuring scalpel works from Daniel T and Juan Nunez's J.E.N project (last heard in 2004) - features three more essential cuts. Daniel T's "Goes To West Africa", in particular, is a dancefloor bomb, with the Cosmic Kids man delivering a superb, house-friendly rearrangement of a Moog-laden Afro-disco gem. "Works Out", a groovy, blue-eyed soul gem, is almost as good. Nunez, meanwhile, impresses with the chugging, Italo-meets-rock madness of "Energetic Extension".

Feather Bed For Hatchback (7:18)
Charlie (dub) (7:02)
Review: Everyone's favourite edits label named after a US bathroom company, American Standard, return with one of their infrequent forays through the disco, funk and assorted musical curios that time forget with San Francisco's The Dream Chimney behind the buttons. The two tracks on Dream Chimney Dubs feel perfectly tailored for the early moments of a night, when the curious souls are starting to ponder a move onto the dancefloor. The quite delightful "Feather Bed For Hatch Back" should coax them into doing just that, a gently uplifting cosmic number with a subtle chug and a hint of Sakamoto to it. On the flip "Charlie Dub" is a wide eyed Balearic cut that sounds even better with the tempo nudged down to around -6.

Show Me Luv (6:13)
Ohh, JAAAZ (6:10)
Let Me Treble (4:06)
Review: Digger and editor extraordinaire John Zahl returns with three more deep dug oddities from the disco cosmos. Early 80s stadium synth boogie with Italo stamped deep into the core and some fantastic horn stabs, "Show Me Luv" kickstarts the party all synths blazing. It's backed up by an Alexander O'Neal meets-D-Train smoocher "Oh Jaaaz" before "Let Me Treble" closes the show with a vibe that you could imagine Abba sounding like if they spent a day on the beach jamming on high doses of peyote. Divine.

What's Lord Got To Do With It?
Review: After impressive turns for Solardisco and Man On The Moon, Scottish based editor Lord Of The Isle graces Cole Medina's imperious American Standard imprint. You can probably guess from the title what the source material for "What's Love Got To Do With It" but you probably wouldn't guess from a blind listen as LOTI turns in a blissfully expansive eight minute sojourn through the outer reaches of 104 BPM space disco without a hint of cheese in sight. The flip brings equally languid vibes at a similarly elongated length, splaying gentle keys and the merest vocal intrusions from Mr Marvin Gaye over an expertly programmed 100 BPM beat. A real cut above your standard disco edits!

Rayko Doo Doo
Review: Rare Wiri boss Rayko holds the Guinness World Record for Soundcloud edits, having retweaked 97 of all disco records released in the period between 1973 and 1981. This alone makes the Madrid based producer a perfect candidate to join the ranks of Cole Medina and Lord Of The Isles on the American Standard imprint - perhaps the only record label named in homage to a urinal company? Rayko's debut on the always classy label is a typically infectious reworking of a disco oddity, replete with the sort of chugging bassline and snapping percussion that teases people onto the dancefloor. It's an ultra limited affair too with only 300 copies pressed up.
