Review: The Back To Mine series is an enduring classic of the electronic scene. It finds your favourite artists taking you on a late-night music trip that soundtracks the afters and is now more than 20 years old. One of the earlier entrants into the series were Faithless back in late 2020. This long-awaited reissue brings their superb collection back into print as a new collector's edition. Sister Bliss and Rollo's eclectic and expert curation takes in a range of lush downtempo sounds from Dido to Bent, Faithless's own 'Sunday 8pm' and Aaron Neville's classic 'Hercules.'

Review: Long running and iconic mix series Back to Mine has got a huge coup for this one, with big beat maestro Fatboy Slim stepping up. As always, he invites you deep into his own personal musical world, offering up a view at the far reaches of his record collection. It's a worldly mix for sure, with scorching dub open things up and rolling reggae rhythms keeping you in a deep groove until the soaring strings and jazz-funk fusion of 'The Pink Panther Theme' changes up the mood. Elsewhere there is blue eyed soul, late night folk and low key Americana as well as the original source of one of his most famous samples on 'Take Yo Praise' that all makes for a lovely and intimate vibe.

Review: Beyond their monumental output as recording artists, Groove Armada have done more than their fair share of stellar mixes and compilations in their time, but will anything top the first jewel in their crown, Back To Mine? Their entry into the lauded chill-out series originally came out in 2000, and while it might not be too hard to find one of the CD copies, the triple vinyl set fetches princely sums these days. It's not hard to see why given the calibre of sweet, soulful grooves dug out by these absolute arbiters of taste, but fortunately you can now cop this tidy orange double vinyl repress with all the finest jams present and correct.

Review: We're used to hearing Horse Meat Disco set the peak of the night alight with their fierce and fabulous route through disco, house and Italo, but what happens after the dance? On their entry for the long-standing Back To Mine series Jamies Hillard, Jim Stanton, Luke Howard and Severino Panzetta take us deep into their collections for a blissful, soulful soundtrack to that cosy moment when we want to wind down after a big night out. It's a fine mix, all told, with the Warp Records stalwart running through a range of soulful head-nodders (Children of Zeus, Ladi6, Creative Principle), and sun-kissed good-time grooves (Bosq, Massimo Vanoni), before gently upping the tempo via Dim Zach's Imagination-sampling nu-disco, the simmering jazz-funk of Chieftain, and the NYC proto-house style goodness of Soulphiction's SBM project. Naturally, you'll find a clutch of the Leeds-raised artist's own productions and reworks dotted throughout, including a wonderfully loved-up, string-laden house version of "Russia" by Fat Freddy's Drop.

It finds him going deeper than one of his famous Burning Man sets as he heads into otherworldly, cinematic headphone territory with tunes from Lancaster, Little Dragon, Octo Octa, Ulrich Schnauss and many more across four fantastic sides of vinyl.
