Track 3 (5:32)
Track 4 (4:59)
Review: Frits Wentink's next release on his own Bobby Donny label finds him editing some tracks he has been playing on his radio show for a while. They are originally by Vertiqua, a German lo-fi hip hop producer that remains unknown. This is a perfectly aged combination of hip-hop and house that will get any floor bouncing. All four of these tracks have been edited to make them more suited to the dancefloor. On the A side we have the first track which features some hazy Money $ex style chill house with dope beats, that's also peppered with some on point rhyming from the original. On the flip, we were really feeling the B2 cut which is powered by Wentink's dusty four to the floor beat and some emotive Rhodes chords all coated in that lovely vinyl crackle and some scratched vocal samples. Comes in limited 12" hand numbered vinyl that is limited to only 500 copies, so good lord: do not sleep on this one!

Review: Bobby Donny head honcho Frits Wentink is back with the third edition of his BODOX remix/edit series, serving up more two bar house and chord stuff than you can shake an MPC at. Hear the Amsterdam-based house hero (and sometime Will & Ink man) get freaky like Adina - whatever time of day - on the smooth and smoky Rhodes-led vibe of the A side's first joint, while more dusty and evocative late night deepness awaits you on the flip. This is chased up by the rather upbeat shuffle of the S.A.D. Mix on B2, which is sure to get the hands in the air with its big piano chords. This will be limited to 800 copies, so don't sleep on this one people!

Horses In Cornfield

Horses In Cornfield (6:22)
Girls In Matching Bathing Suits (2:56)
Man At Parade (5:56)
Bouquet At Rest (6:42)
Review: Earlier this year, Wolf Music regular Frits Wentink had the honour of delivering the first release on pal Steve Mensink's Bobby Donny label. Here, he provides a swift follow-up, serving up for left-of-centre workouts. He begins with "Horses In Cornfield", a delightfully skewed fusion of crazy electronics, wobbly sub and bumpin' electronics, before showcasing the more downtempo side of his work on the experimental, analogue beat science of "Girls In Matching Bathing Suits". Flip for the rolling, swinging beats and fuzzy melodies of "Man At Parade", and the cracked, distorted, bluesy late night deep house of "Bouquet At Rest".

Timid Kickflip (5:20)
You Talk Funny (5:45)
Forestation (5:29)
Shred Bread (7:19)
Review: Rooting the productions of Frits Wentink in one specific style has always been tough, primarily because he makes quirky, oddball house and techno numbers that draw inspiration from the dust-encrusted, sample-rich haziness of MPC-driven instrumental hip-hop. His latest EP, which arrives on the popular Bobby Donny imprint, is another boundary-blurring affair that's closest in tone and style to deep house, but is as far from 'standard' deep house as you'd expect. It's a great collection of cuts all told, with our picks being the bassline driven, alien-sounding unorthodoxy of 'You Talk Funny', the warped, mind-mangling tech-house-jazz of 'Forestation' and the deliciously hazy, hypnotic dub-house of 'Shred Bread'.

Oli Coony (6:30)
Derek Antony (6:12)
Chad Brothers (5:52)
Review: Here's something to get the blood pumping: a surprise collaboration that brings together Dutch stalwart Frits Wentink and rising star DJ Boring (E-Beamz, Lost Palms) for the very first time. The pair are in fine form on cheeky A-side "Oli Coony", a bustling, dub-fired fusion of shuffling early UK breakbeat, dreamy deep house and quirky cut-up madness that's as funky and floor-friendly as it is unusual. On the flipside they get busy with strange, vari-speed synthesizer tones and a bustling, bass-heavy, UKG-influenced deep house rhythm on "Derek Anthony", before opting for a chunkier groove and intricately edited stabs on head-mangling late night roller "Chad Brothers", which also boasts a seriously addictive bassline.

Distinguishing Bias (5:55)
Impartial Perspective (Frits Wentink remix) (7:31)
Review: Holland's Bobby Donny is in its early days, but Frits Wentink's label is already showing signs of real quality among its house peers. The second release is by largely unknown newcomer San2, and the shadowy producer opens the festivities with the dubby, grainy chords of "Impartial Perspective" - a instantly seductive groove, we must say - followed by the dirtier, more squelching low tones of "Distinguishing Bias". On the B-side, Wentink himself turns "Impartial Perspective" from being a mellow house affair into a wonky slice of indistinguishable club music - if it wasn't totally clear, we think it's bloody good. Tip!

Review: ***B-STOCK: Record has light surface marks/scratches, but otherwise in perfect working condition***

Amsterdam's Bobby Donny is a label by Steve Mensink and home to local wunderkind Frits Wentink amongst others. They now present Californian producer Tlim Shug (E-Beamz/Echovolt) with some lush, lo-fi house shenanigans. From the emotive, slo-mo deepness of "Untitled One" with its Terekke influence and VHS aesthetic throughout, the A side also features the second untitled cut - a dusty, MPC style jam reminiscent of that Berlin sound popularised by Max Graef or Glenn Astro. On the flip, feel the vibe of "Untitled Three" with its hypnotic polyrhythms that will put you in a trance.

Wim Waldo - "Nightclub Fantasies" (4:57)
Review: Bobby Donny has assembled a fine array of artists for this first various artists collection, Bodoace. Nanky Nimbo opens up with the deep wand warm pulsations of 'Twilight' while Boy Berger get gets more twisted with some warped synth textures over infectious and dusty drum work on 'Nexus Fusion.' Frits Wentink pumps the party with some edgy vocal loops on 'Smack Down' and the B-side trip all come good too with the subtly euphoric house of Prince Palmer's 'Pressure' and a more twisted take on things from Striker Fox. It's Wim Waldo who then shuts down with 'Nightclub Fantasies.'
