Review: DJ Tron may well be Switzerland's foremost purveyor of revivalist funk and soul. He's certainly got a fine track record, and both of his recent albums - "Fruits of Funk" and "Flowers of Funk" - are well worth a listen. "Mexico", his latest sizzling single, is a highly limited affair, with only 100 copies available worldwide. It's well worth picking up though, as it sees Tron crafting two distinctive deep funk bombs out of fiery samples from Latin funk records. The A-side "Part 1" version is warm, groovy and fragrant, with tactile electric puano chords, crunchy drum breaks and breezy flute solos catching the ear. For sheer dancefloor weight you can't beat the flipside "Part 2" mix, which reinvents the cut as a bombastic slab of cut-up funk-rock hedonism.

Review: Mike "DJ Tron" Mory brings some super steamy summer vibes to Burning Sole with this heavily limited 7". He has been mixing beats since he was 14, apparently, so has a broad knowledge or everything from Italo to disco to salsa as showed here. 'Candela' brings the first to start with - organic percussion and Brazillian rhythms with natty keys and wordless vocals. On the flip side is 'Los Cojones', a more high tempo and hard hitting groove with wild guitar licks ramping up the energy levels and firing up the dancefloor.

Review: Burning Sole are serving this one up from DJ Tron on two different coloured slabs of wax. This is a heavily limited yellow version which feels apt given the brightness of the summer tunes contained on it. Mike "DJ Tron" Mory has been mixing beats since he was 14 and shows a love of everything from Italo to disco to salsa here.
