Passion Of A Night
Review: The Jungle referencing Valley Of The Shadows series from Hague outpost Creme Organization was launched earlier this year with the aim of halting some of the fragmentation that afflicts the underground. Given this first 12" has experienced severe pressing delays, maybe the underground should crowd source the financing of some fresh vinyl pressing plants? Regardless of that VOTS001 finds Creme joining forces with their Amsterdam-based compadres to present a two track transmission from 2AMFM, aka Nation pair Tadd Mullinix and D'Marc Cantu. The tumbling Axel F goes Jakbeat vibes of "Starfist Lazerbeam" are particularly good here! Watch out for future collaborations with LIES and upstarts Berceuse Heroique.

Anxiety Is Always Here (5:38)
The Owner (6:14)
Renessense (6:51)
Intention (4:39)
Review: Mysterious Russian producer Art Crime has previously impressed via releases on Phonica and William Burnett's W.T Records, so it's little surprise to find him popping up on Creme Organization. Nor is it surprising to find the Renessence EP another superb 12" that fully showcases Art Crime's talent for the old ivories. "Anxiety Is Always Here" is surprisingly melancholic, with drifting, Detroit influenced chords and tear-jerking pianos complimenting a rolling groove, while "The Owner" is an altogether spookier, more discordant bubbler. There's a fantastically jazzy feel to title track's hissing cymbals, mournful synth strings and minor key melodies, while closer "Intention" is almost ecclesiastical in its use of cathedral organs and heavenly electronics.

Review: Smooth electro disco works for the floor. Three tracks with a positive club vibe. ''Taboo'' is a cosy clubby track which just makes things OK as they are and effective for everyone!. ''Seduction'' is darker and bottom heavy. But the most outstanding track on this EP is definitely ''Taboo 2''. This is the kind of track that brings the party to another level! Great electro disco-tech for everyone who likes to party!

Review: Taken from the tribute to Robert Moog album. An amazing track from Bangkok Impact (probably our favourite on the album). Great building disco track in the vein of Lindstrom (to drop a hot name...but really this track rocks!), plus a rocking up-tempo piece by Lowfish. Lets not forget a massive up-tempo Model 500 kind of techno/electro track by Luke Eargoggle. Three great tunes on one piece of vinyl.

Klinsfrar Melode (original version)
Klinsfrar Melode (Sprinkles' Deeperama)
Review: Heavy hypno techno pressure from Marco Bernardi on the always excellent Creme Organisation with big bonus points awarded for a remix from DJ Sprinkles. "Klinsfrar Melode" commences in the sort of futurist outer galactic technosphere suitable for such an obscure title, dropping rhythmic chamber undulations like Kirk Degiorgio's Martian twin before locking into a slick groove of rasping syncopation that nudges you and whispers 'it's heads down time'. In a word: epic! The flipside treatment from Sprinkles retains the pressurised sensation but drops right into a fully energised jacking groove that complemented by plenty of neat little percussive edits. A subaqueous approach to big ravey keys and floated vocal moans ride out this excellent track with a panache we have come to expect from Sprinkles. It's hard to decipher which side leaves you in less of a jaw dropped stupor, such is the quality.

Run From The Sunset
Touch The Light
Review: After a killer run of releases for The Trilogy Tapes, L.I.E.S. and Rush Hour under his many monikers, William Burnett returns to DJ TLR's Creme Organization with Run From The Sunset EP. Be it crafting lo-fi power house for L.I.E.S and Creme Organization, dreamy synth sessions for NYC label Sequencias or unlikely club anthems like "The Overlord" for Will Bankhead's Trilogy Tapes imprint, William Burnett ranks alongside Legowelt in his ability to produce frazzled house music weighted toward the not-so serious end of club techno. His return to Creme sees the multi-faceted DJ and label boss canvass an array of sounds, ranging from deep, chord driven Chicago-style house to playful electronica and traversable worm-holing techno.

Review: Given his love of basement-bothering house and techno jams and early morning nostalgia, it's perhaps unsurprising that Marcos Cabral has been recruited to join TLR's ever-growing Creme Organization family. There's naturally much to admire on the Conversation EP, from the wonky, distorted techno dystopia of opener "Nearly Run Over", to the smacked-out, L.I.E.S style dusty weirdness of "Man's Job". Elsewhere, keep an eye out for the hypnotic, low-slung intensity of the relentlessly macabre title track, and revel in the redlined beats, foreboding stabs and white noise of "Jumping Beans".

Review: In the early 20th century large parts of southeast Japan were terrorised by mysterious gangs of highwaymen. These robbers called themselves the "Nagasaki Nightriders" and were the subject of many legends. At sunset rich individuals and landowners locked their doors and waited in fear. With an amazing speed the Nightriders attacked and ransacked their targets. Their incredible pace made people suspect they were in league with the devil. Named after a medieval legend, the Nightriders were supposed to fly through the sky on glowing he-goats!

Speed Freak
Review: Creme Organization and Ann Arbor-based producer D'Marc Cantu join forces for a sixth time on the excellent Alternate Frequency EP. Whilst Cantu first made his name as part of the 2AM/FM and X2 projects with fellow Nation artists Melvin Oliphant III and Tadd Mullinix, the producer has built up a worthy catalogue of solo excursions and for our money tends to be at his best when bolstered by a Creme catalogue number (see his early Creme Jak releases for references) This six track plate maintains D'Marc Cantu's excellent appearance record for DJ TLR's label and demonstrate the full diversity of his production palette. The title track is a wonderfully sci fi indebted slab of acid techno filled with his trademark muffled vocals and coarse claps. "Size And Shape" demonstrates the producer's not afraid to let his melodic impulses take the lead whilst "Straight Shooter" and "Speed Freak" are examples of Cantu at his frenetic best. Fans of the producer's mellower moments will bask in rich bed of sonics that is "Titanium Control Arms" or the tumbling beat em' down of "Tazurko".

Review: Not content with overseeing release schedules on Hot Haus and Unknown To The Unknown that can only be described as relentless, DJ Haus has found the time to lay down some bangers in his studio for DJ TLR's imperious Creme Organisation. The Peekaboo EP will not be surprising for anyone that's gripped a DJ Haus 12" recently, brandishing four dancefloor aces filled with deft little samples cut and chopped to form strange but compelling rhythms. The Black Box style diva house meets Busta Rhymes grunting madness of "Little Pieces" bosses the A-side whilst "Feel The Powder" is as narcotically charged as the title suggests.

On The Fields
Review: Given the particular slant on straight to tape, jacking house music brandished by John Heckle across numerous fine releases for Mathematics, Signals and Tabernacle, its little surprise to now find the Liverpool native arriving on the excellent Creme Organisation. Equally lacking in surprise is how quality The Last Magic Maker is, containing five of Heckle's most powerful and diverse productions to date and further heightened by the vivid, striking nature of the cover art from Godspill's Mehdi Rouchiche. Proceedings commence with the jackhammer Italo of the title track, where cosmic strains are fed through the Heckle mangler whilst piston style drums lock into their deathly groove, whilst some smart, intermittent edits slip in throughout. Following this, proceedings see the contemplative, expansive house of "Short Arms & Long Rockets" sandwiched between two sketched arrangements whose length is consumed by potency before ending on tropically flavoured bumper "On The Fields".

Wait (4:36)
Review: Since making his debut in 2013, Thomas "Innershades" Blanckaert has almost single-handedly re-invented Belgian techno. Few contemporary artists are quite as capable as drawing influence from Belgium's early '90s rave scene and bringing it bang up to date. This latest excursion - his first for Creme Organization since 2014 is full of revivalist treats, from the bleep-goes-Beltram throb of "Knowledge" and early R&S heaviness of "The Kings", to the deeper, more melodious, US garage-influenced sweetness of "Crossing Paths". Closer "Wait", where intergalactic, Motor City melodies tumble over a Frank De Wulf-meets-Mood II Swing groove, is also rather fine.

Nina At The Boiler Room (Kowton remix)
Review: Creme return to the scene of the crime! Last year's label debut from Belgian producer Innershades is revisited in fine style as Tuff City Kids and Livity Soundman Kowton turn in club focused refixes of 12" highlight "Nina At The Boiler Room". Both remixes are what you'd expect from the respective production units and thankfully keep that air horn in place! In the hands of Frankfurt dons Gerd Janson and Phil Lauer "Nina" is transformed into a stealthy acid house meets piano house jammer that will please fans that like their house rugged and raw. Kowton meanwhile turns in a weapons grade DJ tool that shows off his mastery of rolling percussion and unrelenting drums.

Oase
Review: For someone so young, Belgian 20-something Innershades knows a thing of two about classic dance music. His previous EPs for Wicked Bass, Creme Organization and R-Zone have variously touched on early R7S style Belgian techno, new beat, acid house and slamming beatbox electro. There's more warehouse-friendly retro-futurism to be found on Dark Society, from the Beltram-ish rave blast of "Momentum" and Armando style dark house of "CVS", to the Technotronic-does-acid fun of "Oase". Best of all, though, is the title track, whose alien electronics, sharp stabs and heavy bassline recall the early days of UK techno.

Innershades - "Acid Rehearsal"
Legowelt - "Only In America"
Randomer - "Ugly Drummer"
Simoncino - "Earth & Nightfall"
Willie Burns - "He Is Crazy Enough"
Ron Morelli - "Signal Jam" (Greg Beato remix)
Review: If you're yet to add a Creme or L.I.E.S. record to your collection this year let this Creme Organization Valley Of Shadows x LIES EP kills two bids with the one stone. Or you could just get it for Randomer's obliterating "Ugly Drummer". Legowelt throws down some spiralling Detroitisms in "Only In America" following the colourful club construction Innershades provides in "Acid Rehearsal", and to match the brutality of Randomer's A-side cut is Ron Morelli's "Signal Jam" retooled as a darkly bending slab of cathedral techno by Greg Beato. Simoncino provides more of his usual sequenced Chicago house prowess in "Earth & Nightfall" leaving Willie Burns to let loose on the keys in "He Is Crazy Enough" when closing out this radical compilation.

A Man Of Qualities
Mustard Greens
Angulas
Colugo
Review: Willie Burns sure knows how to pick 'em. Since Alex Israel debuted on Burns' W.T. Records, the Detroit producer's gradual rise has also been helped along by Creme Organization. This is his second release for the Dutch label and it's a cracker. First up we have the grungy "A Man Of Qualities", driven by its rumbling bassline which features in a slightly different shape on "Mustard Greens" too. The B-side sees more of an emphasis on drums and percussion than the A-side with the smacking snares, scraping hats and jacking rim shots giving extra groove to the acoustic, acid and sub-basslines of the considerably funky "Angulas". Israel then ends the EP on a high note with the rhode-filled, flute-happy "Colugo".

White Monkey Holding Peach
Review: Having come to the fore with a quite superb outing on Speculator's WT imprint last year, Alex Israel adds another respected label to his discography with the Front Butt EP on Creme Organization. Described by the label as Chicago's own overlord of deranged deep house, Israel comes good on this with four tracks that align perfectly with the Creme Org aesthetic. Misty analogue textures sway rhythmically around the relative calm of opening track "Mongo Raw" which don't really prepare you for the outright jam that follows. "Habituation Micturation" is one of those effortlessly effervescent Motor City productions, raw and dusty and driven by the kind of uplifting melodic touches that tease your feet into action. It also features Detroit secret weapon Kevin Reynolds on speakerboxx duties revealing the frustrations of living in his neighbourhood, specifically some crack head relieving himself on Reynolds' garden fence. On the flip, the title track adds a certain pensive mood to proceedings, as downtrodden melodic elements duke it out with the relentless jackhammer sounds of percussion before a delightful left turn into freeform ivory tinkling. Those craving some swampy organ sounds will be sated by the closing smudged jacker "White Monkey Holding Peach".

Review: The Portuguese takeover of Creme Organization continues apace here as the inimitable IVVVO makes his full debut on the iconic label from Den Haag with the wonderfully titled Mark Leckey Made Me Hardcore. Paying clear homage to the London based installation artist, this three track 12" arrives hot on the heels of IVVVO's split release for Creme with fellow Portugeezer Lake Haze and has some truly wonderful sleeve art from Godspill. In terms of music, IVVVO seems to be exploring the spectral rave that has served him so well in the past on lead track "Raised" though "0000" is the kind of cut you'd hear wedged deep into an Actress record circa 2011. Inbetween "Our Journey" veers down an abstract techno hole with some quite brilliant vocal loop manipulation. And the odd dog bark.
