Nicole Moudaber - "Come To My Beat" (feat Romina) (6:50)
Review: The all powerful Drumcode label still does a fine line in big room techno after countless years and even more releases of the stuff. This third part of the A Sides collection brings together a towering selection of names from that scene including Tiger Stripes with the smooth cruise that is 'Altar'. Veterans Pig & Dan vs Gregor Tresher get more intense with frosty loops and dubby hits building a vibe and Wehbba ups the ante with acid daubs and fizzing drums on 'The Next Step.' Nicole Moudaber's 'Come To My Beat' (feat Romina) then hammer home a hefty techno groove.

Catarse
Mind Awake
Review: ***B-STOCK: Record has very light surface marks/smudges, but otherwise in perfect working order***

Long-serving Brazilian techno titan Redolfo Wehbba made his bow on Drumcode earlier in the year, delighting the Swedish label's army of fans with the Eclipse EP. Here he returns with what may be the first and only EP ever named in honour of a kitty's chocolate starfish. "Catarse", the aforementioned title track, is something of a bombastic, big room techno roller; a thumping affair where dreamy, saucer-eyed riffs slowly rise above an intense rhythm track. While good, it's arguably not a patch on the ragged intensity of opener "She Lost Control" - all ricocheting drum machine fills, wild electronic riffs and rumbling bass - or "Mind Awake", a throbbing, sleazy and downright intoxicating workout that contains some distinctly dystopian noises.

Dynamo
Dynamo (12")
Cat: DC 259. Rel: 05 Jul 22

Techno
Dynamo (6:13)
Strange Dreamz (6:46)
Ataraxia (7:36)
Review: Rodolfo Abrao Wehbba is a leading light of Brazil's techno scene, although he's truly an international concern after more than 15 years in the game. He's put out a lot of music over the years, but more recently he's been aligned with labels like Hotflush and the monolithic Drumcode. It's Adam Beyer's empire he returns to for this, his first EP in three years. The sound on Dynamo is as massive as you would expect, full of that precision engineered arena-filling thump and sky-scraping synth lines, but all shot through with the seductive darkness which makes the Drumcode sound so appealing to such huge crowds of people.

Wehbba - "Fake" (7:21)
Tiger Stripes - "Destroyer" (6:11)
Mars Bill - "Mohave" (7:05)
Spektre - "Nasqueron" (7:13)
Review: Drumcode returns with its sixth installment of the internationally celebrated A-Sides series. Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Adam Beyer's brand continues to go from strength to strength. This volume features scene stalwarts on the A side such as Brazil's Wehbba with his doom laden peak time assault entitled "Fake" featuring a monstrous Reese bassline this side of label classics such as "Murder Was The Bass", as well as Sweden's Tiger Stripes with the pre-peak time adrenaline of "Destroyer". On the flip, Rotherham's finest Spektre serve up the powerful "Nasqueron" which is guaranteed for absolute dancefloor destruction.
