Electro
Hydro Systems (5:30)
Automate (feat Assembler Code) (4:44)
Bubble Boy (5:47)
Horner Acid (5:31)
Review: Sydney's Jensen Interceptor comes through after a productive and successful 2017, that saw him follow up his material for Boysnoize Records with a killer 12" on the infamous Central Processing Unit. The electro newbie lands with yet more previous industrialism on the E-Beamz imprint, a truly hyping label that is on a non-stop roll at the moment. "Hydro Systems" is a gnarly, headstrong bombshell that's all hands on decks thanks to its wild and fiery percussion, and "Automate" follows up on that with a dark, bleeping wormhole of sonics. The B-side kicks off with "Bubble Boy", a bubbling whirlpool of FX-heavy bass tones, and "Horner Acid" breaks out the techno guns with its twisted, interlinked layers of low frequencies.

Review: Forever flexing on the peripheries of all kinds of breakbeat styles and modes, E-Beamz go full jungle for this neck-snapping, big-skanking compendium. Featuring a wide range of exciting, forward thinking producers who understand the original breakbeat magic while still pushing the sound forward and manipulating it in all kinds of innovative ways, Continuum Z contains forthright fire from the likes of Tim Reaper, Mani Festo, Denham Audio, Dwarde, S.P.Y and Shadow Child, DJ Decay, DJ Cosworth and many more. Straight-up unmissable missives include the heaving 4x4 hardcore blend 'Let's Talk About That Trust Fund', 'Things You Don't Do' and the pranged-out laser fest 'Rush' but the whole album is, to quote Levy himself, massive...

Deep House
DJ Boring - "Winona" (8:35)
Magma - "You" (6:22)
Review: The E-Beamz label recently debuted with a fine 12" of jungle-influenced haziness from Tim Shug and DJ Playstation. Here, they swiftly move on to EP number two, showcasing tracks from debutants DJ Boring and Magma. The former's A-side cut, "Winona" - so called because it utilizes vocal samples from an interview with actress Winona Ryder - sounds like a long-lost early '90s cut: an ultra-deep treat full of deep space chords, analogue deep house beats and psychedelic TB-303 abuse. Magma's dustier flipside cut, "You", explores similar old skool pastures, making use of both barnstorming techno drums and sweaty jungle breaks. Throw in ridiculously deep chords and riffs, and some eyes-closed vocal samples, and you have another late night winner.

Final Fantasy

Drum And Bass/Jungle
Final Fantasy
Trickshot
Fifth Drops Poly
Scatta
Review: Ravetrx is allegedly a new alias of a bonafide legend of the hardcore continuum, though the name has not yet been revealed by the label. Whether this is a true contribution from someone who has really touched the aforementioned sonohistorical Gulf Stream, or a mere marketing ploy on the part of the label E-Beamz, remains to be seen. Whatever the case, though, 'Final Fantasy', 'Trickshot', 'Fifth Drops Poly' and 'Scatta' are veritable anti-fucking-about tunes, establishing crunchy breakwork and progressions of the no-nonsense variety. For those who like their jungle drums unpredictable, 'Fifth Drops Poly' is your polyrhythmic highlight.
