Review: Doing just what it says on the tin, Next Wave Acid Punk is a brand new compilation LP set charting, well, the next wave of acid punk (and beyond), bringing together contributions in the myriad subcategories of EBM, new beat and dark disco under one contemporary umbrella. Charting over 40 years of dark club music compiled and curated by Berlin-based Musician and DJ Luca Venezia aka Curses, this is a comprehensive look-in at a deviant leather-laden idea bound in sound, melting barriers between new and old, sub and dom.

Review: Berlin-based artist Curses is committed to the dark side of the dancefloor as an artist, and as this series on Eskimo proves he's also an authority on the seedier side of selecting, too. The first volume of Next Wave Acid Punx was a knockout success and so he's back for another round from the seemingly unending pools of EBM, industrial, synth-pop and minimal wave spanning the 80s through to the modern day. Given the sheer size of the compilation (covering no less than 49 tracks) it has to be split across separate chapters, with this double vinyl serving as Chapter 2 and featuring creepy masterpieces from the likes of Boytronic, Matrixxman and Dina Summer.

Review: The Next Wave Acid Punx compilation series is proving to be a vital source of nicely seedy, sinewy electronics from bygone eras and the modern day alike. Commissioned by Eskimo, Berlin-based artist Curses enlists his expansive knowledge to gather together vast volumes of music from EBM, minimal wave, industrial and elsewhere, and then the accompanying physical releases sift through the data to present various chapters. This third wedge of the second compilation features modern provocateurs like Autumns, Silent Servant and Nuovo Testamento, remixed by Curses himself.

Review: When it comes to gorgeously summery blends of colourful nu-disco and sunset-ready deep house, Tim Berndhardt AKA Satin Jackets is in league of his own. That much is proved by his third album, and first for three years, Reunion. It begins with an immersive dose of sunrise deep house warmth, 'For What We Have', and ends with the piano-spotted, hands-in-the-air audio dopamine of 'Don't Worry'. In between, you'll find a sparkling, sun-bright mixture of Balearic house loveliness ('Little Aeroplanes'), head-bobbing synth-pop lusciousness ('Different Directions', with Ivy Falls), melody-rich cheeriness ('Hundred Fifty Up'), dreamy vocal nu-disco (Tailor hook-up 'Spell'), and smile-inducing, guitar-laden joyousness ('Coffee & Feels').
