Let's Take It To The Stage (5:20)
Cosmic Slop (7:36)
Atomic Dog (8:30)
Funkentelechy (Where'd You Get That Funk From) (20:32)
Review: If you've ever had the privilege to witness George Clinton & The P Funk Allstars live, you know they bring it, each and every time. After all, the magic of Parliament and Funkadelic's imperious catalogue lies in that in-the-room, jammed out madness where anything could happen at any moment, which translates to the stage so beautifully. This collection pulls together some of the choicest live cuts from recent times, as stone-cold classics like 'Let's Take It To The Stage' and 'Cosmic Slop' collide with 'Atomic Dog' and 'Funkentelechy'. Of course the tracks take on whole new dimensions in the live setting, stretched out and freaked up even more than in their original form, making this a must-grab for any P funk devotee.

Make My Funk The P-Funk (12:20)
Review: There's nothing quite like the experience of an authentic P-funk show. Given the fact their music always sounded like a raucous live jam even in the studio, George Clinton's assembled throng of Parliament Funkadelic visionaries were already hardwired to take it to the stage. There are plenty of essential eras for this most mighty of funk phenomena, and here's a recording from one such period in 1989. There's everything you could wish for from Clinton and his crew, with some of the greatest P-funk anthems slipping in alongside some deeper cuts, all delivered in that thrilling, anything-could-happen extended style that defines the live sound of this most vital of funky forces.

Review: Of Filipino descent, the expressive keyboardist, vocalist, and composer Flip Nuñez enjoyed a varied career in jazz. After backing Bev Kelly, Jon Hendricks, and others in the 1960s, Nuñez impacted in the Latin jazz-rock act Azteca. The marvellous My Own Time And Space, his only solo album, showcases his versatility; the Latin cadences of Willie Colon and former Santana bassist Tom Rutley, the keen jazz phrasings of guitarist Michael Howell, and drummer Vince Lateano, all make for a superb backing for Nuñez’s piano and synth flourishes, bolstered by his emotive voice. A lost classic, and one that sounds better with every spin, now reissued via Trading Places.
