This drop on Adam's Bite leads in with the mellow propulsion of 'Interchange' before swerving into the forthright thrust of house-informed workout 'Swap Function'. His sound taps right into what is hot right now - spaced out breaks, tech and minimal. 'Round & Round' is a vocal laced broken beat tech cut with slamming drums. 'Profiterole' keeps it tightly coiled with infectious and bouncy drum funk and 'The Rippers' then slips and slides with all the evasive skills of a master boxer. Review: Originally released on seminal Frankfurt imprint Playhouse back in 1996, "Chase Chase Chase" by influential minimalist Losoul (Peter Kremeier) gets a much-deserved reissue here on his own Another Picture imprint. A true zeitgeist of the reductionist groove subtlety of the mid-'90s with blip, blurp, bleep galore and clipped rhythms, this is perfect tackle for getting the heads down at the afterhour. Over on the flip, the clinical aesthetic gives way to an emotive and soulful number titled "Brother In Love" - a perfect late night basement jam if we've ever heard one.

Review: Christopher Ledger continues to broaden the scope of his sound as a producer by bringing unabashed breakbeat acid into the folds of his broader tech house trajectory. There's still a pervasive deepness to 'Access Denied', no matter how big the beats or how wriggly the synth lines are. 'Nala's Groove' has a proggy tint to it, and 'From Above' rolls along in gorgeous blooms of synth work and deft percussion. Clearly the inspiration of classic 90s-styled beats worked their way into Ledger's production process, and he's made them his own.

Review: Romanian minimal maestros Atipic roll out another stylish and stripped back offering here from Cesar Lazar. The A-side is an epic one that unfurls over two minutes of real machine soul. '017 1' is built on shimmering snares and deft drum loops while a churchy architecture means you're gazing into a wide open abyss. '017 2' gets a little more mechanical in its grooves with grinding drums and percussive loops bringing some texture before closer '017 3' brings more upright chord vamps and slippery minimal rhythms,

Review: Background is a Rimini-based label which specialises in slinky, playful strains of minimal tech house from some emergent names well worth keeping tabs on. Alex Dima has certainly earned his stripes as a name to get you checking the record, and his opening track 'Twisted' offers the mysterious synth touches and boxy drum machines beats we've come to expect, while Luca Piermattei lays down some seriously satisfying trance-minded melodic lines to loosen the crowd up good and proper. Munir Nadir is in an equally artful, inquisitive mood as he fires off the interlocking riffs and licks of 'Guinea' and then Smoud Beats completes the picture with a diversion into shaky, 90s-styled acid for the jacker in your life.

Underground hero Lil' Mark blurs the boundaries between noughties Chicago boompty and Maurice Fulton's Syclops project on the bouncy brilliance of 'Bare 2 The Bone', before label regular Carlo Gambinho opts for a far deeper, early morning-friendly sound on the warm and woozy 'Satchmo'. Review: Are there any more iconic names in underground electronic music than Swiss-Chilean Luciano? He might not be at the peak of his powers but still has a wealth of skills and experience that mean his every release is always well worth checking. Here popping up on Germany label Basic he offers up the brooding atmospheres and floating pads of 'Nature Reverance' atop a rugged and raw drum line. 'Trance Ilvana' is dialled back a notch to ear-tickling frequencies and bubbling bass and drums that are only loosely defined but fully hypnotic.

Review: A keystone label in the minimal and tech house world, Butter Side Up are yet to disappoint, adding another dazzling release to their collection, welcoming back Liquid Earth for 'Deputy Dog' - his second EP on the label. Exploring a sublime and spaced-out club sound, the LA-based artist is a new school mainstay, having previously appeared on the likes of renowned label Kalahari Oyster Cult and his own label project, Liquid Earth Physical. Tight punchy drums and swirling, interplanetary pads veer into view with the opening track '2 Tha Dance Floor'. Next up, the title track 'Deputy Dog' arrives as a wonky counterpart with bleeping and squeaking modulated beats dancing over a full-bodied bassline. On the flip side, 'Rim City' touches on a West Coast house sound with funk-infused chords and energetic, driving drums. Closing things up, 'Feels So Good (As It Should)' loosens things up, flowing between shimmering cymbals and a delicate, vapour-like synth melody, punctuating the track at points and then swerving out of view at other moments. A wonderfully varied release from a do-no-wrong label and an up-and-coming producer to get excited about.

Review: Nick Curly has revived his Cecile label to great effect this year. There have been a slew of fresh sounds from the likes of the German boss himself as well as Steffen Deux, De La Swing and now this collaborative offering from Miguel Lobo and Cristian Merino. The sound is still rooted in the tech house the label lis known for - and Miguel was saving up last time he rebased here in 2021 - but with plenty of additional soul. 'Last Track At Sunrise' is perfectly titled - it's driving to keep you locked after a night of dancing but has a lush vocal to signify the bright new day ahead. 'Looking For U' is a warped, elastic groove to latch you on in the middle of the night and then it gets a great remix from Dennis Quin who bulks up the drums, adds a little rawness and dances off into the future.

Review: Raw and grimy electro-techno from Lungo for Chat Noir Tools, a slinky and funky label specializing in dance music with a distinctive French touch. Inspired by the world of retro gaming, we can easily imagine the music here cropping up on some obscure pixelbound shoot-em-up, like something between a Mr. Oizo repetitor and a discarded Doom cartridge from 1993. Closer 'Fix This' is the highlight, verging on speed garage with its rough swing, but bringing a lo-fi flair not heard so much on the rest of the EP.

Review: If you ever doubted that Crosstown Rebels put out a genuine eclectic range of underground electronic sounds than check this one out - Lunar Disco bring some sleazy indie disco vibes to this one. 'Devil's Hand' has filthy bass and bumping drums with steamy vocals from singer-songwriter Kate Elsworth. DJ and composer Nicolas Blistene is behind the beats and a host of remixers add their own spin. The standout is from Swiss-Chilean master Luciano who does his textbook string and percussive thing. It kicks off with a track made by both, 'Pyrus', which is a wigged-out tech house cut with snaking bass and silvery drum sounds while a mysterious didgeridoo-style lead brings an original touch. Each artist then goes solo, with firstly Luka offering the low slung and late night depths of 'Providenza'. Review: American producer LaRosa makes his first appearance on the esteemed Eastenderz imprint, bringing with him a quartet of killer, club-ready cuts. He sets his stall out with 'How Do You We Do', a chunky, tech-tinged roller piled high with deep, dubby sub-bass, bleeping melodies and intergalactic pads (plus a wonderful, saucer-eyed breakdown), before reaching for gently chiming melodies, bustling beats, smoother bass and trippy noises on 'Chagondoo'. 'The Fifth Story' is a little deeper and more subdued - though the sub-bass is even weightier and the melodies more bleeping - while 'Easier Said Than Done' is a rock-solid tech-house box jam of the sort that Eastenderz has always done so well. Keep an ear out for some very subtle disco vocal samples and acidic squelches.

Review: For fans of off-kilter, minimalistic dance music, there is little more exciting than seeing the words "Ricardo Villalobos remix" printed on to the label of a brand-new record. For all his faults, Villalobos rarely delivers a duff rework, and he's once again hot gold with these revisions of experimental art-rock ensemble Low Island. He first tackles 'Feel Low Again', reinventing the indie-rock cut as a low-slung chunk of woozy minimal techno full of drifting vocals, bubbly electro bass, distant cymbals and snare-heavy beats. On the flip Villalobos reworks 'Don't Let The Light In', offering a slightly less dense and undeniably energetic take full of oddly-tuned electro bass, glitchy sounds, hazy chords and layered vocal samples.

Review: Greek label Ethos is all new and says that it aims to "present music from carefully curated artists that are consistent and true to their sound regardless of the current trends or hype." For their all-important inaugural release, they serve up a limited edition, hand-numbered hand-stamped 12" from Leonid who brings plenty of deep Detroit stylings. 'Diurnal Drift' opens with mid-tempo drums and loose analogue percussion in a dusty and dubby cavern, then 'Elliptical Orbit' is a serene and late-night horizontal groove. There is real musical craft in the lush chords and jazzy leads of 'Parallel Paths' while 'Eastern Horizon' sets down with a more raw and driving sound but still has a warm lo-fi glow.

Review: Lee Humphreys and Evasive label head Rob Pearson are Lovable Rogues, a tech house pair with roots in the golden era of that sound which had its home in South London. It was this three track EP back in 1999 that launched their label and 23 years later there is still plenty of clamour for it. 'Look Into Your Eyes' kicks off with thumping kicks and crispy hi hats, 'Chica' is more playful with freaky synth sounds and a hurried rhythm that helps elevate your rush while 'Twilight Manoeuvres' closes down with spaced out cosmic tech vibes and plenty of mind-melting motifs. Review: Evasive Records are still going strong after an initial founding in 1999. Run by DJ and producer Rob Pearson, a staple figure of Southeast London's tech house scene at its underground apogee, Evasive's take on the style is an authentic, diversive example of the genre's truest origins. Lovable Rogues is Pearson in collaboration with fellow tech pioneer Lee Humphreys; this is their second EP together, a special follow-up release (now reissued), not least since it logically follows on from the very EP that launched Evasive, 'Look Into Your Eyes / Chica / Twilight Manoeuvres'. Made by the pair in the deepest rural German sticks, the 'Interger' EP betrays tech house's early indebtedness to broken beat, acid jazz and electro, the B2 'Thursday' coming as the tricky favourite here.

Review: Exarde goes in 'ard with this new double 12" from a mix of new production talents. It operates the intersection of house, tech and minimal and opens with Moray's punchy 'Ghosting Fletcher,' a turbocharged and bass-driven cut before things pick up with the bouncing tech funk of Elias Sternin's 'Metalic Delay' and Aymeric's 'Not Techy Enough' which is a warped and squelchy bumper from the deepest corners of space. Elsewhere, Eliaz's 'Ndvc' impresses with a grittier sound and Sinm's 'Diskotech' is sure to bring the sweat. This is a fine pick up packed full of dancefloor fuel.
