Om Records offshoot Smoke N Mirrors has caused something of a stir in the last couple of years. Its "Naked Music goes nu-disco and electronic house" ethos has provided disco lovers and house heads alike with releases that neatly fit into both house and disco sets. This first label compilation revisits some of those early highlights, via a warm and cozy mix from Al Veilla and a disc of unmixed cuts. While the mix is entertaining enough, it's the second disc that most appeals. It's here that DJs can savour full-length versions of such Smoke N Mirrors classics as Hot Toddy's electrofunk jam "Freekend", the slammin' "Atcha" by Lance Desardi and a wicked Hot Toddy rework of "Don't Nobody" by Fred Everything.
