His first original material since his Normadic Soul album a few years back, Aroop returns with a beautiful double dose of Latin spirit. "Tudo O Que Voce Podia Ser" pays homage to Brazilian folk legend Milton Nascimento with a lolloping percussive jam. Driven by enveloping funk bass and great processing on the vocal, it's instantly hypnotic affair with perfect nuances of psychedelia weaved deep into the blend. Flip for "Burguesinha", a remarkable cover of Seu Jorge's classic. Paying full respect, Aroop has ramped the tempo and beefed up the groove while retaining every ounce the original's soul. Stunning stuff.
