Arthur's Landing, a band comprised of musicians who worked with Arthur Russell and led by Chinatown Records boss Brennan Green unveil the first sumptuous fruits of their forthcoming album shaped tribute to the legendary NYC composer and disco ingenue. Arthur's Landing have spent the past three years impressing audiences across the world with live renditions of the tracks that will feature on the forthcoming album for Strut Records. Those not lucky enough to have caught the band live can find solace in this twelve inch from Chinatown Records. "Is It All Over My Face?", the Loose Joints track is perhaps one of Russell's most familiar productions, but Arthur's Landing more than do it justice with two varying but equally sultry interpretations. Whilst the A Side mix slows down the pace but retains the signature melodies across the expansive duration, the B Side counterpart opts for a more freeform disco approach which can be quite hypnotic and is reminiscent of some of the material that featured on DFA's recent Peter Gordon retrospective.
