Later this month, 50 Weapons will round out another fine year with a mix CD of 2013 highlights pulled apart by their Parisian correspondent Jeremy Guindo-Zegiestowski aka the always fun to pronounce Bambounou. Before that, the Frenchman himself lines one last 12" transmission from 50 Weapons and like his previous work on the label, Bambounou's class shines through. If you were hoping "Ignition" was Bam's take on the R Kelly classic, you'll be disappointed. But chin up, son, as it is a fine example of lopsided and stripped back techno. Complementing this, "Take It Out On Me" is a proper DJ tool that swerves ever deeper down the bass/techno wormhole.
