Commercial Break is the 14th album from legendary London synth-pop band Blancmange. It has been co-produced by Benge and continues on the group's usual musical path. That is to say it explores acoustic textures and field recordings, with spoken word pieces delivered over twisted synths and electric saws. Sometimes waves break, at others a dishwasher goes off, or an ambient mic delivers some weird background noise. It is a living and breathing electronic record that is adventurous yet accessible, abstract yet human and real. This one is sure to bring in plenty of new fans as well as please the oldies.
