Central Processing Unit continues to provide us with the most essential electro known to humankind in 2022, although in this instance it's actually a re-release of two EPs from the past, Desktop Robotics and Feelings On A Screen, both of which originally landed in 1997 on Aphex Twin's Rephlex label. That should go some way towards prepping you for what's in store here, with the contents less floor-filling banger than CPU often delivers, and more on the imprint's growing experimental back catalogue.
Of course 'Desktop Robotics' and 'Greenwich (Like A Tim mix)' will set any party off, respectively with a kind of pared back distorted angry breaks mood and an old school, raw proto-electro vibe. But these are hugely contrasted with the atmospheric avant-garde film score sounds of 'Leafs Brought By The Wind', the sublime but simple pianos of 'Marylebone' and the warm electronica of 'Feelings On A Screen'.
