Vagabundos 2013: Volume II CD

With Ibiza season in full swing, Cadenza offers a second celebration of their weekly Vagabundos party, following on from April's first effort. This time round, it's party regulars Cesar Merveille and Mirko Loko at the controls. Each mixes a disc each, with both embracing the fluid depth and sun-kissed atmosphere of the White Isle. Merveille goes distinctly melodic on his deep and shuffling selection, unveiling a string of previously unheard re-edits and some hazy, carnival-friendly melodies from the likes of Ji Choi and Ultrasone. Loko's selection is decidedly melancholy in comparison, but still features plenty of bona fide floorshakers, with Ame's once ubiquitous remix of Roy Ayers, Tevo Howard's late night jacker "House Room" and Danny Tenaglia's rework of Ananda Project's "Cascades of Colour" standing out.
