After an impressive debut release for WeNot Music, Mr.Chesslo Junior drops his second EP on the ever-unpredictable Drut imprint. These guys have put out a lot of different music, not to mention Kelpe's impressive LP this time last year. Chesslo's music is an extravagant parade of wacked-out samples, shredded beats and awkwardly arranged melodies - we dig! This mini-LP, of sorts, is a perfect example of his technical diversity, where every track contains elements of many different genres and styles. Our top picks have to be "Hyroglyph" for its sheer oddity; "Shimmer" because of it's inherent funk thanks to those swinging house licks; and "KTO", where hefty swells of low-end magically collide with lo-fi melodies and shimmering atmospherics. Juno HQ tip, for sure!
