Dagon CD

Oregon-based ambient imprint Cryo Chamber's latest release is something of a conceptual epic: a near two-hour dark ambient exploration inspired by the work of legendary sci-fi author H.P Lovecraft. It was created in collaboration by 20 artists associated with the labels, who linked studios, swapped files and collectively worked on the audio together over the course of a year. We're not Lovecraft afficionados, but sonically, the two 50-minute plus pieces (each featured on a separate CD) are breath taking in their moodiness, level of aural detail and cinematic vision. It's like an ambient soundtrack to an un-made dystopian sci-fi movie in which Dagon - a deity featured in a numerous H.P Lovecraft stories - naturally plays a starring role.
