Nubian singer Dezaray Dawn has been touted as rising star on the future soul scene, though so far she's yet to make a wider impact. This single - her debut - should make an impression, not least because it was produced by one of the major players on the deep and soulful house scene, NDATL boss Kai Alce. On the A-side he delivers his full vocal version of 'The Real Deal', placing Dezaray Dawn's sweet, confident singing amidst an attractive combination of warm, organic house grooves, smoky late-night trumpet solos and languid electric piano motifs. Over on the flip you'll find an instrumental version of the A-side mix as well as an 'Alternative Instrumental', in which Alce strips the track back a little more whilst retaining its core warmth and jazzy musicality.
