Since its initial Japanese promo-only release in 2001, DJ Harvey's Sarcastic Study Masters Volume 2 - put together for fashion brand Sarcastic Clothing - has become something of a must-have for collectors, with original CD copies going for a whopping L150-plus online. While that does seem extortionate - insert your own rant about the cult of Harvey here - it's blend of European curiosities, slo-mo jams, horizontal Balearica and cosmic disco was genuinely ahead of its time. This, then, is a timely reissue. The mix itself - featuring notable highlights from the likes of Bryan Ferry (the decidedly Balearic "Nocturne"), Logic System (the stone-cold classic "Clash") and Michael Shrieve ("Transfer Station Blue") is a masterclass in mood-setting, beard-sporting Balearic brilliance.
