Rome's Simona Calvani aka DJ Red is resident at the Italian capital's infamous Goa Club and in addition to releases on fellow club resident Giancarlino's Unpolite Records has had appearances on the likes of BPitch Control, Electric Deluxe and now Darko Esser's always impressive Wofskuil imprint out of Amsterdam. On the A side, the original version of "Raw Cacao" follows in the tradition of fellow Roman producers, going for a slow burning and hypnotic aesthetic: techno to drone to! On the flip is a brilliant remix by the undisputed king of minimal techno; yes, none other than Ricardo Villalobos. The Chilean-German visionary as always delving into a micro-house offword full of warm clinical beats, wonderful blips and bleeps and overall truly mesmerising sound design that has seen him release on seminal imprints like Perlon and Playhouse.
