Ruffhouse & Gremlinz' UVB-76 comes correct with their first V/A EP "Two Spirits" where four artists make their label debut. Newcomer Entire bangs the gong to mark their arrival; big echoes and eerie textures over a tension riddim, it's the perfect opener. Nekyia (previously of Neurosplit) follows with a grave stepper where heavy pressure pads push down on the beats that tap out hypnotically. Elsewhere the currently unstoppable Forest Drive West cooks up "Inverse", a sinewy shiny stepper that cuts like a coiled spring and gradually develops into something of a breaks frenzy, while DB1 closes with the fittingly titled "Duppy Pulse" where the whole idea of tempo is subverted to create an incendiary transition piece from 110 to 170. Don't say UVB-76 don't spoil you.
