Eap Tracks (reissue) vinyl

Since first appearing in stores a decade ago, Stian Gjevik's first 12" under the now familiar EOD alias has become something of an in-demand item. Listening again via this coloured vinyl reissue, it's easy to see why. Offering a largely cheery and positive listening experience, the EP sounds like the work of a man who thinks stylistic rules are there to be broken. At various points across the EP, you'll find giddy Italo-disco/acid/braindance fusion ("Jymsjig"), moody, heads-down acid techno psychedelia ("Jack & Field"), rush-inducing chiptune bliss ("Storage") and pitched-up lo-fi electronic disco that sounds like it was made on plastic "speak and spell" machines (the gloriously bouncy "File_A5E00B").
