Monster X and Stormfield link up for the long-overdue return of Fausten. Last spotted together almost a decade ago on Ad Noiseum, 'Mercenary' heralds their return in true dark, tense fashion. Oozing between techno, industrial, dubstep and all experimental sounds in between, we're awash with stern sounds, textures and tones that instantly disarm and displace. The cherry on the cake is an incredible remix from Fret (AKA ex Napalm Death drummer Mick Harris) who doesn't just remix one track but brings aspects of each of the EP's four tracks together into one dramatic, uncompromising sonic attack. Fausten up your seatbelts.
