Active since 2012, the METHXX series from Metalheadz seems to have gathered a real sense of momentum over the summer after drops from Mako, SB81 and Beta 2. The onslaught continues here with the METHXX debut of Friske, no stranger to the Metalheadz cause and this triplet really shows off his diverse production palette. Lead track "Speculate" fills out the A Side and demonstrates Friske's talent for rugged productions filled with intricate edits which still retain a certain chilling quality (in this case it's those haunting strings). There's a degree of liquid funk to "Autumn" as well as a usage of loops that suggests why Metalheadz call Friske their in-house hip-hop aficionado, whilst "Dark Venture" is pure 170bpm rufige.
