Something special this way comes - the debut album from Gewissen gets the vinyl pressing it so clearly deserved in the first place. Call us geeks, but black plastic is the only real format to hear something this immersive and conceptual in all its glory, noises taking on new levels of depth and weirdness, slowly inviting us to step outside the world we see and into a place where boundaries between musicality and noise are blurred to a point that proves beauty is in the ear of the beholder.

It's difficult to know exactly how to describe what happens after pressing play, whether the tones that follow are haunting or simply intoxicating. There's certainly a kind of laidback nervous energy to some of the arrangements, while at other times it's more sinister and brooding, the lost score to some dark science fiction movie we've finally managed to unearth.
