Grand Prix's Mach 1 is widely regarded as one of the holy grails of the cosmic disco scene, with a Discogs price to match its ultra rare status. This reissue then can only be described as welcome, allowing contemporary ears a chance to soak in the innovative early 80s electronic disco pulse created by legendary French producers Jean-Pierre Massiera and Bernard Torelli. Anyone who considers themselves a head on Italo disco matters will know and immediately recognise tracks such as the classic "Challenger" - all dizzying synth lines, thick funked out bass and oddball vocals - and the supreme electro boogie badness of "Cruisin".
