|2.||GES - "Helmut Schmidt Plays Bach" (dub)|
Temple sees the final entry in Jan Jelinek's series of four vinyl compilations which collect his live recordings, commissions and collaborations from the past five years. The A-side sees "Temple" itself, a collaboration with French-Canadian choreographer Sylvain Emard which provides a re-worked excerpt of the music for the dance piece Fragments - Volume I, and sees pulsing analogue sounds build to create an organically induced hypnosis. On the B-side, Jelinek's Gesellschaft zur Emanzipation des Samples (G.E.S.) sees "Helmut Schmidt plays Bach" assembling a collage of canonical composers which were originally performed in Geneva, Baden-Baden and Bad Homburg, or as the label suggest, "a triumvirate of bourgeois casino tradition."
