Seven months on from the release of his Ghost Miners doublepack, bearded beatmaker Jared Wilson presents a follow-up. Like its' predecessor, Ghost Miners II tiptoes the fine line between Detroit-influenced deep, otherworldly techno, and the in-your-face, dancefloor-friendly pump of acid techno. The EP's most startling moments fall in to the latter camp, with "Ghost Miners 8" delivering the perfect balance between supernatural chords, hissing rhythms and intense, guttural acid lines. Even more remarkable is the bombastic "Ghost Miners 9", a raw but funky acid stomper that sounds like Hieroglyphic Being and Mr Oizo after a fist full of anti-depressants.
