Already busy with her own Bu-Mako imprint, Jenifa Mayanja has now linked up with Dakini9 to bring forth the Sound Warrior imprint, and the order of the day is illustrious deep house music from the most mysterious, haunting depths. Mayanja is up first with "Heading Into Tomorrow", which pits shimmering drum machine patterns against pitch bending pads and subtle flecks of micro-sampled vocal with a spiritual lilt to the melodics that comes on like sunrise over a pagan ritual. Dakini9 meanwhile gets a little dubby on "Polarity Shift", letting plenty of subtle sound design work into the woozy construction and occasionally letting brighter synths shine through the murk with a wonderfully cleansing end result.
