It's interesting to see how those who create and conceive the art form of music are attempting to circumvent the issues thrown up by an 21st Century audience that's swiftly grown accustomed with having the entire history of music readily available. For Tigersushi boss Joakim, one of the most pressing issues appears to be the somewhat prehistoric way that artist albums are promoted, with labels waiting until a project has been completed before commencing the obligatory press campaign which leaves the artist in question bored with his/her work by the time the album is finally released. Thus the only material Joakim has complete for a fifth studio album is present here on this two track Heartbeats 12" with the ultra slo mo Italo throb of the title track complemented the wonderfully melancholic slice of Gallic electronic pop "Another Light". Which direction Joakim chooses to expand these two tracks into a full album will be intriguing to watch unfold.
