Initially released last year - when it promptly vanished from stores in double-quick time - the sixth instalment of Joaquin 'Joe' Clausell's hush-hush rework series returns. Once again, the record has been pressed to pink marbled vinyl. The long-serving New York DJ and producer first offers up 'Lose It', a bluesy slab of stomping swamp funk emboldened with lashings of African-inspired hand percussion, before he adds additional drums, synths and keys to gospel-disco workout 'Madu'. Over on side B, Clausell slams down a 14-minute, percussion-heavy Afro-disco edit of epic proportions ('Man Obea') and rounds off a fine EP via the Fela Kuti-esque excellence of 'Wars of Love'.
