We've been waiting over 20 years for this one... The second ever Joey Negro album Dave Lee has given the world is a bonafide good times bomb that's saturated in raw funk soul disco escapism. Heavily faced by the sadly departed Diane Charlemagne (notably on the Chic-busting opener "Prove That You're Feelin' Me" and a new twist on his disco thumper classic "Must Be The Music") and peppered with silky house grooves such as the dreamy east coast workout "Won't Let Go", the album is a love letter to the grooves that influenced Lee's earliest musical tastes and visions. With remixes of The O'Jays and the Fatback Band ripping up the finale, this really is a tastefully (and timely) delivered trip. Feel the love.
