Having seriously impressed with the (almost) album length release for Martyn's 3024 label, Leon Vynehall returns to ManMakeMusic as Laszlo Dancehall, the UK producer's ongoing studio partnership with Christian Piers. Aside from a remix of Detroit Swindle, all of Laszlo Dancehall's productions have arrived via MMM so it's easy to chart how the project has developed over the course of their three 12" releases. LZD III finds the pair in confident mood, with lead track "Plimpton" a swinging upfront house cut that suggests they are no longer so reliant on hanging their productions on vocal samples. We hope "Zizzou" is an homage to Monsieur Zidane and contains the kind of crunchy, rhythmic idiosyncrasies one expects from a Vynehall production whilst MMM main man Georgey Fitz steps up with a closing remix of "Plimpton" that seems pitched perfectly for the Ibizan sunsets.
