LeonXLeon is no stranger to Red Laser Records, having previously appeared on a number of compilation style EPs. My Solar Brass is his first full EP, and sees the Parisian producer set out his take on synth-heavy Italo disco. First you'll find the title track, a deliciously breezy combination of dreamy chords, bubbly synthesizer lines, jaunty synth bass and delay-laden percussion hits. Kid Machine hook-up "I Am After All" is a tasty, Euro-disco style chugger built around rising and falling synthesizer lines and a throbbing arpeggio bassline, while "Beefcake" is an up-tempo roller full of intergalactic synth flourishes and bustling electronic bass. To finish a fine EP, Al Dante provides a suitably epic interpretation of 2013 cut "The Train Tracks".
