Should you want some evidence of Romania's ever growing status within the techno community look no further than this debut release from Lisiere Collectif on Mike Grant's long running Moods & Grooves label. Formed of childhood friends Andu Simion, Dan Gheorghe and Bogdan Ardeleanu, Lisiere Collectif hail from the Ploiesti area of Romania and their stated inspiration for Detroit's house music heritage (as well as Berlin techno) makes them a smart fit for Moods & Grooves. There's a sense of refinement to the trio's productions that belies their lack of experience with the sweeping moods of "E 1208" and the moving Motor City chords of "A 0519" both excellent.
