Less a bona fide band that a collection of friends in Australian garage-punk and indie-rock bands that occasionally converge to record an album in a considerably more laid-back style, Lower Plenty have nonetheless released three albums worth of gloriously ramshackle indie-folk that tempers delicate songcraft with Velvets-esque insouciance. 'SIster Sister' may be their finest work to date, radiating a carefree aura that unites the psychic spectres of the late-'60s with timeless bedsit style. A collection of bohemian charm and understated elan.
