The Berlin based label Blackest Ever Black continues their singular journey through the darkest recesses of sonics old and new with an album from Lustmord. Otherwise known as Welsh born but California-based dark ambient pioneer Brian Williams, Lustmord's discography spans some three decades and has collaborated with Chris & Cosey, The Melvins and Tool as well as releasing numerous solo albums. The Word As Power is the first Lustmord LP in some four yerars and fits in neatly with bleakly beautiful aesthetic Kiran Sande's label has been cultivating over the past few years, using a combination of "voices, electronics, immense sub-bass, field recordings and other acoustic phenomena harnessed and arranged to stimulate feelings of dread and desolation, certainly, but also escape, renewal and rebirth".
