Review

As a genre, Electro is no stranger to the notion of concepts so it's no surprise to see Solar One Music launch a new series themed around space. As the title suggests, inspiration for the Hubble Telescope Series comes from the telescope that's been orbiting Earth for the past 25 years with the aim to "capture the feeling of space exploration through different experimental dance-floor tracks". The German label turn to Luxus Varta of Detroit Grand Pubahs fame to inaugurate the series and this five track 12" actually features a collaboration with Paris The Black FU from that famous group. There is plenty of Drexciyan drama as the EP progresses, though it's the twisted sounds of "Breigs" that impresses most, along with the Paris The Black Fu-featuring "Floo". A fine debut for the series with further contributions planned from E.R.P., Heinrich Mueller, Rudolph Klorzeiger, The Exaltics, Robert Heise, and Crotaphytus!
