Melting Pot is a new label out of Germany that sets out its stall with a compelling slice of hip-hop and R&B. The format is obviously important as they serve this one up with an insert and podcast and limit numbers to just 300 copies. Monome and Piranha are seemingly new names but their sound is well developed. The former opens up with the dusty late night beats and shimmering chords of 'Before His Fall' which has an aching soul sample buried deep within. On the flip is a more crisp and direct tune 'Spaceship' (feat Stereo Utopia) with an airy vocal floating amongst the twinkling keys. This is a great start to what sounds like it could be a vital new label.
