Back in 2011, K7 offered up an EP of exclusive tracks made by Motor City Drum Ensemble man Danilo Plessow for his contribution to the DJ Kicks mix series. With original copies of that 12" single becoming increasingly hard to find, the German label has decided to reissue it. "L.O.V.E" is one of Plessow's most mature and evocative tracks to date - a woozy and organic vocal deep house number rich in drowsy chords, twinkling electric piano motifs, languid bass and crunchy, MPC house style drums. "Basement LOVE", a stripped-back and locked-in revision built around hooky organ stabs and a heady vocal from Dwayne King, is arguably even better.
