Porn Sword Tobacco and SUED co-founder SVN team up again for more smoked out excursions in futuristic deepness, this time on their own amusingly named label Recording. Side A is in (typically) lo-fi and dusty fashion that you'd expect from the pair, you can almost hear the tape fuzz and 'maybe' hear the lighter going off in the background, amongst the hypnotic bongo rhythms, the subdued field recordings and random sound design but that's what gives these loopy and minimalist DJ tools their charm. On the flip there's some downbeat and emotive expressions in techno soul on "Recording 3" with its wandering bleeps and woozy pads sounding like they got in the studio and dabbed with Derrick May circa '88, while "Recording 4" has the most dance floor dynamic in all its druggy and reductionist glory. It's like what they say about Leipzig: it's really great, just keep it a secret!
