Only just emerging on the radar, Dutch producer Roger Gerressen steps up to the equally blossoming Sudden Drop imprint with two refined and considered cuts of dubby house for those ultra deep moments. The title track is a skipping, broken meditation with echoing chords and a paper-thin beat that pops in an addictive groove. "Put That Record On" keeps things a little more rigid but no less mellow, opting for a moodier chord inflection, some gaseous atmospherics and obtuse vocal snippets for a truly deep excursion. It's the kind of record that would sit beautifully with the New York deeper-than-thou fraternity, while still grooving in its own little space, especially on the first track.
