It was way back in 1995 when Darrin Fossella released "Egyptology Volume 1", his sole EP under the obscure Space Farm alias. The 12" has since become something of a sought-after cult classic, so it's little surprise to see Left Ear Records releasing a new version containing previously unheard "full length" versions of the EP's most celebrated tracks. First up is "The Dawn Of Birds", a wonderfully humid and percussive workout that sounds like it should be accompanying a tribal ritual on some far-off planet several million light years away. "Camels In Desert Air", meanwhile, may well be one of the finest hybrid techno and house cuts to come blessed with North African synthesizer melodies and drum machine-sized Fez. Impressive stuff, all told.
