On the latest edition in the Colin Curtis Pressents series, a swathe of producers have given their takes on tracks from Bluey and Gilles Peterson's superb Brit-funk tribute album as Str4ta, Aspects. There's plenty to get the blood pumping throughout, not least a killer, EP-opening, delay-laden jazz-funk-goes-disco revision of 'Rhythm In Your Mind' courtesy of Nuovi Fratelli, who brilliantly extends the track to 12 glorious minutes. The EP also boasts two other takes on this track: a rubbery, organic house style version from Born74 and a slap bass-sporting, Latin-tinged jazz-funk revision by Steve Conry and Takashi Nakazoto. Rui Fradinho's liquid broken beat version of 'Dance Desire' is also superb, making this a near essential set of remixes.
