Since 2015, Surgeon has been performing live improvised techno using hardware machines. It has been a gradual process of evolution over the past 25 years that he's been performing to a point where he says 'it really can't be called DJing anymore.' He's taken the techniques and inspiration from this live creative process and distilled them into these four tracks. "Part 1" is the EP at its most hypnotic and atmospheric but still retains Child's trademark blend of cyclical grit beneath. "Part 3" is without a doubt the EP's most intense moment on this pounding and loopy tool that's built for some strobed out and tunnelling moments on the dancefloor. Also on the flip "Part 4" shows his knack for making broken techno: another speciality honed throughout his career (and with Regis as British Murder Boys): this one is a bold and fierce body basher.
