Review

The Cyclist aka Andrew Morrison stepped into the limelight about four years ago with his very own blend of experimental house and techno on West Virginia's Crash Symbols. Ever since that debut LP, the man has put out a further two full-lengthers and it's only now that he's releasing his first EP on Music Is For Losers. While the majority of the EP is certainly playable in a club and will most likely appeal to a wide audience, The Cyclist's music is drenched in a distinct layer of experimentalism, where even the straightest of his basslines are remarkable edgy. "Hot House" and "Heart Of Stone", for example, are club-ready tech-house bangers with a twist, where distortion and an altogether lo-fi recording technique make them into fiery little weirdo house bombs for dark corner dwellers. Check "Aurora (Shortwave mix)", that's our pick of the lot!
