Not to be confused with indie starlets the Mystery Jets, New York five piece The Mystery Lights continue to channel the modern day back into the '70s. This slick 7" sees the Brooklynites in surf mode once again with the uptempo and staccato-driven "Thick Skin", a dancey number with fresh vocals sharing a fresh cadence akin to Ozzy Osbourne circa Black Sabbath's Paranoid album. "In The Darkness" offsets the A-side with an alternative vibe that's lazy, relax and chill, perhaps even drunk. Cocktails or whiskey, you choose.
