The Normalmen are far from normal when it comes to their signature house sound, and since their debut EP for the excellent Early Sounds Collective last year, we've held them with high regard and have eagerly awaited their next moves. This time they appear for London's White Jail, the vinyl-only imprint affiliated to the club night, and they've packed a full punch of disco house vibes for the dancefloor. "Opus46" is a quirky, bouncy little bomb for the warm up hours, while "Asian Spectrum" is a little harder and 303-laced, with the "Arp Arcanum" providing the beatless experimentation. Over on side B, "The Lushifer" is a funky nu-boogie piece, "Misamoto Mansion" reminds us of pieces on Mathematics, and "Antrumm Odyssey"itself could easily be heard in a set by Moody, Theo or anyone else in the Detroit contingent. Classy.
